かつて鉱山が栄え、温泉街が栄え、そして静寂が戻った本郷町。
その静けさの中に建つ、数寄屋造りの一軒家です。
坪庭、土間、浴室、寝室、パブリックスペース。
一日一組だけの空間。
Hongo-cho — where mines once flourished, hot springs thrived, and now stillness has returned.
A sukiya-style house standing in that quiet.
Tsuboniwa, doma, bathroom, bedroom, and common area.
A space for just one group per day.

私はこれまで国内外100組以上のアーティストによるサイトスペシフィックアートプロジェクトに携わり、瀬戸内国際芸術祭2022の公式記録集や、国宝・仁科神明宮の式年遷宮記録誌の編集を手がけてきました。土地とアーティストの出会いに立ち会ううちに、何かを成すことよりも、そこに在るということそのものに惹かれるようになりました。属性や役割を超えて、ただ在るとはどういうことなのか。その問いに静かに向き合える場所として、Still Pointを開きました。この土地の文化と季節を、ご一緒できればうれしいです。
I'm Sosei Sato, an editor and field curator. I've managed site-specific art projects with over 100 artists from Japan and abroad, and edited books on land and culture — including the official records of the Setouchi Triennale and the once-every-twenty-years rebuilding ceremony of Nishina Shinmeigu, a National Treasure shrine.
Through these encounters between artists and the land, I found myself drawn less to what people accomplish, and more to what remains when all of that falls away. What does it mean to simply be, beyond our roles and attributes? I opened Still Point as a place to quietly sit with that question.
I look forward to sharing the local culture and seasons with you.
